If someone gives you an idea for something, simply giving them a mention in your comments is the right thing to do. Even if you edit it some. No one can get mad as long as you say who first wrote a piece of code you are copying, especially if you are showing a new use for it.

Slick if somone has a peice of code in there program that you understand and simplifies your current way of coding I would say that's fine use. it could be somthing as simple as changing.. i+=1 to i++
