What actually leads to success in software development?

I am not sure of the exact thing that leads to great success like Facebook and other billion dollar apps, is it mainly about implementing an idea that has not been thought of yet, or about the skills a programmer has?

Innovation, Communication, and Teamwork. You can be the most technically savvy person in the room, but if you're not pleasant to be around, nobody is going to want to work with you on anything. Soft skills count just as much as technical skills.
