What are the reasons for choosing to do a project in Python 3 vs. Python 2?
Both versions are current and supported.

I also agree with using Python 3 especially if your starting a new project. It will save you time in the long run from not having to convert it from 2 later.

For new projects definitely go with python3! No development is done on python2, only bug fixes and the definitive end-of-life is set to 2020. http://legacy.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0373/
