Hi Julian,
I dont have any references for books on C# programming but there's a good step by step tutorial on Microsoft Virtual Academy and its FREE.
Here's the link: mva.microsoft.com
Look for the ff tutorials:
1. C# for absolute beginners
2. Programming in C# JumpStart
I suggest to start with number 1 first.
