Should you choose your career based on what seems to be best for your future, or based on what you like and want to learn?

I have been told that your job should be something you like, and not just something that gives you money, however, I don't want to risk my future life on something I may not be able to work with. My dream job from when I was a kid was to learn and make my own games, to be able to create my own stories and characters, now that I'm older however, instead of learning game development, I decided to learn web development, because finding a job as a game developer in Greece isn't easy, and making games by myself hoping that I may one day make the new minecraft or new undertale doesn't seem like a good plan to me. I don't dislike web development, I like it a lot so far, I may even be able to make some web games one day, and when I'm older, if my life goes smoothly I can learn game development then as a hobby, whats your opinion?

Both is true, actually, which doesn't make things easier. If you wholly concentrate on what you love but no one pays you for what you love, you may end up empoverished, without health care, with no way to prepare for old age... So you may be living a life that you don't love at all. Elif you wholly concentrate on what has the best chances to make you wealthy, you may have money and security, but maybe your worklife will be miserable or you have to do 60-hour weeks or whatever. No time for fun, friends, things you love... Then again it might not be the life you wanted.

Think of everything this way if you choose the job that gets you more money you can get capital to start the job you like 😉 but try and do it the other way round it won't work so just go for that hard job 😉and Start your dream but if you are hard working you can try and take the risk of the job you want and might end up getting more money remember Jeff bezos said if you don't love wat you do you will never be great at it hope it helps 😁
