Which connecting device is used in star topology ? On the place suggest any other device

Hub and switch are used as connecting devices in star topology.
if you use a hub then the signals will be transmitted to all the nodes(computers or any other devices) connected in a network.
but in case of a switch the signals are sent only to the intended node(s)
