I also try to be a video game developer, I am studying C # since I feel that it is a very comfortable language to work with a game engine (I recommend unity) Although there are many more, I hope you can be a game developer if you want!

For the basics you need to learn C++ and Python. And for styles and graphics, you need to learn CSS, JS, and HTML. You can learn Machine Learning and AI's if you want to include an AI into your game. Thanks for your question and happy coding.

Jorge E. Unreal engine is also a good choice.

Once you get to industry level, C++ is all its gonna be

Unity Engine is so good

C++ and Java are the two most common programming languages for game development. Trending is C# for Unity......✌️👍

+2

The most useful languages for this are Javascript, C # and C ++ Even big companies work with it.

+2

If you want to develop game using UNITY game engine, You need to learn C# because unity required C#. And if you want to develop your game using UNREAL ENGINE, You need to learn C++ because unreal engine required C++. And not so clear about other game Engine.

+2

If you are not a fan of coding and would prefer drag and drop kind of development...you can try out scratch. But if you're comfortable with coding then unity(C#) or unreal engine(C++) would be a good choice.

+2

C# and Unity that's the way yo develop apps and games.

Best for games is probably unity and the Unreal Engine Best language for it is probably english... Ok actually csharp and java It also depends if its mobile or pc

Before diving into programming part of gaming you must be familiar with 3d modelling, basic character animation etc. Game designing involves a lot of homework to do. The theme, characters, scene management...Try learning C/C++ for unreal engine. If you are not familiar with programming it also has blueprint system. But for a starter I prefer unity engine because it is a lot easy to digest. But it uses C#.
