Code Coaches are great practice and keep you on you toes.
One strategy from the book Atomic Habits using the 2 mintue rule. For example you want to make a habit of programming everyday. You can't do much in 2 minutes here but a reasonable minimum amount. Maybe 10-15 minutes coding everyday. This teaches you the art of showing up. Doing it daily is more important than progress. Do whatever programming you feel like for 10 minutes everyday. If you miss a day don't miss 2 days in a row. Of you miss 2 days don't miss 3 in a row and etc. The key: do it everyday even if it is for 2 minutes. Never tell yourself it's too little. This makes the habit of programming easier and you'll procrastinate much less. Search for summaries of the book "Atomics habits" to see more tips on creating habits. You can also read the book "The slight edge" by Jeff Olson to see the power of small action everyday.
