New AnswerHere's the trick for freenom.com - instead of entering just the domain name, enter the whole domain address with the preferred extension -- this will automatically select it on the next page and allow you to register. So instead of: ilove, enter ilove.ml - worked for me :)
If you're looking for a top-level domain, you might try freenom.com for .tk, .ml, .ga and others.
