You're taking the C++ course, right? In that case, you have your work cut out for you. Just keep going with the course, and you'll be up-to-date when you're finished.
If C++ proves to be confusing, try switching to a simpler language. I suggest Python.

It basically does the same thing as C++, except writing programs in it is not as complicated.
