How to improve coding especially logical skills when having good interest in maths???

Question

I was good at Maths before I joined under graduation. I sadly wasted almost 4 years in my BTech. Now, Rather than towards my branch, I wanted to build my career in Software domain. I am just an below average student in programming. I just passed in C,DS having them as Subjects.
But I don't have any subject after then...
I just learnt C,Java,DS basics when I was free in final year...
I didn't code or practice much well...
But when I go outside my college,it will be difficult to survive with few skills.
So, I decided to step up ...
Please help me how to utilise my maths problem solving skills in programming inorder to give solutions to problems

if u want to improve ur logic skill,i recommend u to find some algorithm and implement it in ur code rather than just reading and memorizing the language syntax....
there are lot of algorithm out there regarding graph,binary tree such as bfs,a* algorithm u can use and try to code
by doing that ,u will learn more new things,get more comfortable with this programming environment and of course improving ur logic skill..
thats actually what my programmer's friend advised me to do,and i believe it really works
