When Computer starts joking!

Question

When I had to format my desktop it was not recognizing my USB keyboard before BIOS. It was saying:
Press F2 for setting(BIOS)...
if only if I don't have mine PS/2 keyboard I couldn't have finished my work next day.
Has something like this happened to you? If yes please share.

Did that just happen out of the blue? Last time I checked, it was because I screwed up the system config files when I tried to remove bloat.

@Hatsy, it's because of continuous electricity cutoff which may have tampered with boot file so win 10 was getting stuck after logo. Couldn't repair it so had no choice but to reformat it.
