Wordpress vs programming languages

hi everyone, I have seen the agencies near me that deal with the creation of websites. Well, I find that all agencies use wordpress. My question is: Can a web developer who knows html, php, css, java script mysql be competitive and if so, why? thank you

You still need all these if you create themes from scratch. With the pre built themes the customization is limited.

Yes Web developer can be competitive, because using wordpress is good and all but people who use them dont really have the skill of that of the full stack.... P.s Am not discriminating I also use wordpress for quick works and I also use web dev language
