The first thing you have to learn in order to be a web dev or designer is the ability of searching. Yes, you read well, the searching skill. Also, for web designer career you need css and html. After html and css you can learn designing software tools like photoshop etc. Somebofy told you there is no career in web development. This is not true. Probably he/she meant something else. For web developer you need Javascript, php, sql (basics of html and css) .
Anyway, i can write you a lot but the main meaning is start to learn and search please. Searching will give you the ability to find whatever you want anytime you want it and it will save your time. Feel free to ask here , but first search because especially for web dev and designing there are infinite questions already answered. Finally, check the rules , it will help you.
