In HTML, what is tha purpose of <wbr> tag?

I never used such a tag, because not a possible way of purpose.

The <wbr> (Word Break Opportunity) tag specifies where in a text it would be ok to add a line-break. Tip: When a word is too long, or you are afraid that the browser will break your lines at the wrong place, you can use the <wbr> element to add word break opportunities.

<br> forces a line break at a specified position. <wbr> may insert a line break if the browser decides that it is necessary.

You can use it to indicate the web browser when to break a line. It can be useful with long words, file paths or url addresses.
