How long did it take people from scratch to learn c++?

So I just learnt HTML and wanted to expand onto bigger and better things and made a start on C++. I was in a positive mood about approaching C++ but once started realised there is a whole load of things to learn and get my head around. So how long did it take others to fully learn and understand C++?

It really depends on how much you would consider learning. To learn the basic concepts / syntax of c++ that sololearn mostly offers, it should take a month or two only. However, there really isn't a spot where there is nothing left to learn anytime soon. I've been studying c++ quite a lot for half a year and I'm nowhere near finished. Nevertheless, what I am capable of doing with c++ amazes myself actually. If you really want to learn c++, you should get practice by writing code and compiling, after learning any lesson. It is key to get very familiar with everything you learn. I personally recommend the tutorials at learncpp.com. I came there after learning from sololearn.

Thank you. Glad to hear that you are making progress! I guess I will stick it out and get practising. Was kind of disheartened once I went through the first module as was overwhelmed by the amount to learn. Thanks for the insight, I suppose I will get there in the end month by month
