Any general purpose language can be used to create anything. Intellij IDE on PC is written in Kotlin. I have made apps for both PC and Android with it. The language was created to make Intellij. Google likes it better than Java so they started using it for Android. Now, everyone thinks Android was the point. But, it could be used to program your TV or Microwave, plus iOS apps have been made with it.
