Will Php become obsolete while node.js rakes over in the future.

Question

I wanted to learn a programming language for back end and i decided on php but my friend said php would soon become obsolete and node.js would take over. Please i need some advice on this waiting for your reply.

Your friend obviously loves JS, and hence what s/he said. If your friend loves PHP the story will be different. People has their own opinions and preferences, some like to influence others to follow their choice, some others not, it all comes down to their likings.
BTW, comparing PHP to Node.js is like comparing apple to banana. Both are fruits, but can you really say they are comparable? 😆
