Why Image Steganography Testing Over MP3 not working properly ?

Regarding to text and image hiding formats possible with efficient way.Coming to audio why its so difficult .How to crack this issue.

Mp3 is a pretty much complicated format. In an image data is stored as an array of tribits which you can directly get access and change the values according to your wish.
A tribit is basically the smallest unit of data which can directly be used to represent a bigger. Like in a image a tribit is a pixel. In binary it is simply a digit 1 or 0
In an mp3, if you can get and alter the tribit, you can apply stenography technique to it.
But altering those values will drastically destroy the sound. So it's useless.
