How far can a new programmer go using his android phone

I love to know the opportunity available or options of programming a phone user can utilize in developing himself in the IT world

Emmanuel Adetunji I couldn't begin to imagine what your mileage will be as a new programmer using your phone. Speaking as a highly skilled, professional software developer with over 23 years of experience, the "distance I could go using an android phone" compared to that of a desktop OS running on high powered hardware is too depressing to consider. It's like comparing the amount of grass one can cut using a pair of scissors compared to that of operating a riding lawn mower. In that sense, you will spend all day cutting blades of grass in a small patch of the field while using the riding lawn mower would have knocked out an acre in very little time with very little effort. Hopefully this analogy makes sense.

Yes you can still get basic things done on a phone especially if you have a larger screen and use a separate keyboard.

in my opinion a phone is not suitable for serious development. you could use it to keep up with the documentations and programming references. practicing with small code when possible. plus not everything is available on a phone. you could ssh to a Pc but it's not the same. nothing can beat a Pc, you can use multiple monitors, real keyboard, processing power, full fledged IDE ...

Emmanuel Adetunji no one is going to stop you from using a phone, but as you advance with your coding you will realize how useless it is for real world productivity.

Anthony he is asking if he could code using his phone. it has nothing to do with money. coding with your phone is as David Carroll said in the above posts.
