Conversation requests

Hello everyone, I am trying to figure out how private message requests (on android app) work on SoloLearn, this is my issue: - I have received already twice a notification that I was "invited to a conversation" by someone - when I open the app and the message, I see the option to either "accept" or "decline" - but very often I only see "hi" and not a full message. - Before deciding if I want to accept a conversation, I click on the person's profile to see who they are - But when I afterwards go back to the messages, the invite is gone. I guess this means I accidentally declined the invite? I haven't yet figured out how to go about this. I would like to look at the person's profile before deciding to accept or decline, but it seems that it is not possible. Or am I missing something? EDIT: to clarify, I am not able to click on the person's profile without opening the message. In my list of messages, even when I click only on the profile picture on the left, the message opens, and not the person's profile. I hope I'm not repeating a question that was already discussed, I did a search and couldn't find a thread on this specific issue.

If you lost the request then just open the message window then click on the 3 dots on upper right corner and click on message requests and walla there it is.

Open the messages tab in the notifications, then click on the three dots in the upper right corner, and voila, click on "message requests" and all of them will be there! Hope it was helpful ☺️

Before clicking on the message, you can directly go to the profile. When you get a notification, open sololearn, go to notifications section, and instead of clicking on the text in of notification, click on the profile picture (I don't know if you understood me)

bakitza weird, always works for me. Why don't you then just accept, and then block them if you don't line what they wrote to you?

Aymane Boukrouh [Inactive] my experience is that if someone who I never interacted with on forums or code playground just sends me a private message or of nowhere, it mostly means that they have mistaken SoloLearn for a dating app. And I don't want to waste my time on such conversations. I did want to check the profile first, and if the person has a positive presence in the community, I'd be more likely to trust their intentions and accept a conversation :) It's not a huge deal, I just found it weird, it looks like a bug maybe. Because I now accidentally declined two invites, and cannot find those people anymore. So I wanted to check if I'm doing something wrong. But if it works for you, it may have to do something with my version of the app. Weird.

Hi Aymane Boukrouh [Inactive] - thanks for your response. In my app, I am not able to do that. Even if I just click on the profile picture in the list of messages, the message opens (showing those 2 buttons). Then on that screen (of the message request), I can click on the profile pic and and see the profile, but when I go back, the message request is gone. This happened already twice. Actually, for any messages, I cannot click on the profile without opening the message first. Clicking on the profile pic on the left just opens the message. Is that different on your app? A good point though - I edited my question to clarify that I am not able to do this.
