What Skills Do I Need To Start Database Administration?

I am interested in pursuing Database Administration, can anyone help me out with that from the beginning?

You should have knowledge of database queries and theory. You should start learning MySql. To become a database administrator you should be good at Operating system preferably linux. Understanding of cloud technology and networking would be an added advantage.
