Programming jobs tend to take over your life so the best choice is to pick what you love as you will be able to last longer in the job. There are jobs for all languages, but you should see what is available where you wish to live. Because web is great choice for London has zero bearing on where you live. Just because Java has more jobs where you live, doesn't mean you should pick it. Pick what you love best out of jobs in your area and go from there.
