Google say that now Kotlin is preferred language for Android Development. But I don't think so. Yes, Kotlin is really cool language, but it don't have such many tutorials on YouTube. There are already a lot of Android applications, which works on Java and if your boss will ask you to make changes in already developed project, for 80% it will be Java language app.

So, as for me, Java is better now, but after some years it may be changed for Kotlin.
