Spacebar Versus. Tab

Which is better to use?

Spacebar is standart because 'They are the same everywhere'
Byt i think they just dont know how to use tabs.
They sayng with tabs code will look differently on computers, but why just dont settab's size?

I prefer four spaces as substitution for tabs.
