Follow the leader

Question

Been curious if there's a person out there (i.e a blogger) I should be following for best practices, programming, development, etc. I read posts on medium quite a bit and follow javinpaul; I'm curious if there's some popular, programmer demigod that you all follow for guidance that I should be too. I'm not super in-tune with the programmer world yet, but I figure identifying some popular figures may help in my journey
