Is it possible to make apps in a smartphone using codes ?

I was thinking if it is possible to build a proper working app (or game) without using app building apps from the play store . I want to see real outputs (in the form of self sustained code like app) of my work and not in the form as we see in SoloLearn .

You can run Python code on QPython3. That's a 'player' that you have to download, but Python usually needs a player.
