What is a QnA thread?Is following a QnA thread important?How does it help?

I am really confused why is the star button given to 'follow' a QnA thread and what is a thread?Please help me out.

This is a Q&A thread, as we are in the Questions&Answers section. Following a thread means you'll be notified everytime someone else posts in that thread, so you know and can reply if you want to. You automatically follow threads you post in or create yourself.

I would like to add that by following a QnA thread you will get notified with numerous opinions/perspective/solutions of other people on Sololearn on the same question.
