why won't it let me past the fourth lesson on every topic? The only way to unlock is to skip ahead. What do I do?

I know that. I finish the first four topics, but the fifth won't let me in. The device registere my touch because I see the lesson light up, but then it stops. So I don't know if it's the app, or if my account is just bad.
