Is it the end of Node.js?

I just read about io.js, a direct clone framework from the Node.js repository, made by Node.js's most active contributors, by releasing updates every week. Will this be the end of Node.js?

I thought they merged back in 2015... The last thing I heard about it was there won't be any further io.js releases. All of the features in io.js are available in Node.js v4 and above. If you go to https://iojs.org/el/ you are redirected to https://nodejs.org/en/

No, io.js has future plan to merge back to node.js. The reason why Node.js could jump from version 0.xxx to 4.000 was due to io.js merge back to Node.
