it depends on the system you are willing to apply it. For small autonomous embedded systems use microcontroller assembler or C/C++. For systems using Arduino C or python or assembly. For Raspaberry Pi almost anything, including scratch! For professional industrial robots, like Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, etc, everyone has its proprietary language :( So, do you know what you wanna do with the robot?

I heard they use Java in like Lego Mindstorm stuff 👀 However, if you would like to get serious, there are more effective and efficient languages available like C++. It's very common practice in Artificial Intelligent. Why would they choose C++? Because of its low-level benefits. It is very non-abstract of how a computer reads and executes code.

There are no best language it just anyone you find comfortable with that a as long as it a compiled language java works c# works python works c++works it just what you find better and most importantly the operating system the robot it running on so if it running on jvm java is much better if it running on Linux which most run on python is really good then and Soo on
