Definitely is! PHP is a great language to learn😊 With PHP you can build websites that function, i.e. a social site where people can post pictures, comment, like, etc. Note: That works with a database, so you'll have to learn SQL too😊 I'll also advice that if you're going to learn PHP you have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Then you could make great websites! Check this out: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.quora.com/Should-I-learn-PHP-in-2019-Is-it-still-worth-it&ved=2ahUKEwjAsf2oseziAhVcRhUIHVk-CDwQFjALegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw2yI3agPtrKYtKrrpdo7KtY Hope this helps! 😊

*****************IMO* There are two important things to keep in mind. ************************ - First, as demonstrated here in the reply chain, there is no definitive answer to your question of, "Is PHP worth learning", if we are referring the skill of utilizing PHP. It would be very worth it, if your employer (or a business you are looking to apply to) has PHP based server and the skill would be valued by the company. On the other hand, if there isn't a single PHP file in the offices server, the skill would not hold as much value, regarding employment. - Second, "Knowledge is power" -Sir Francis Bacon If you just have a thirst for learning, don't hold yourself back. Regardless of opinions, applications (physical or data), or any other outside factor, the process of learning is about expanding oneself. Even if you just get an idea of the basics and decide that it's not worth spending any more time on, you have ventured down the path and grown from the experience. tl:dr: Venture forth with your education if it applies to your field of work or place of employment, or if you just want to. If it's not going to help you make money and it totally does not hold your interest, move on to other options that will. Best wishes with your journey!

Yep!!! By nailing this language you can easily find job in the backend work office. Do remember : php has the honour to run the internet giants facebook and WordPress so there is no point in asking such questions.

ᐺ ! ᖇ ᖶ ᒪ I don't really agree with you, I'm sorry. Your really didn't give a reason why PHP isn't worth learning. Maybe you should specify 'cause PHP doesn't do the same thing as Python and the other languages you mentioned. Just my thought 😊

PHP is mainly focused on server-side scripting, so you can do anything any other CGI program can do, such as collect form data, generate dynamic page content, or send and receive cookies. But PHP can do much more. There are three main areas where PHP scripts are used. Server-side scripting.

I would say yes, it is worth learning. My reason is most of the websites still use php. If you want to be a mobile app developer, you may need to understand how the websites of your clients were written so you can implement it on the mobile app you are building for them. So in that regard, php and other web related languages is definitely a plus for a mobile app developer....

php got a bad name because a lot of people who coded in it had bad coding practice. and thus a lot of software was considered bad “because it was coded in php”. it is intrinsically not true. in fact there are amazing frameworks in php, such as Laravel, and others. and yes there are still jobs out there for php programmers. but your choise of learning a language should be based on your goal. ask yourself what you want or need to accomplish. then ask which technology will work for you. lastly, make sure you like it.
