JS. Looping help (if)

Question

On this code, when you click on the + sign, the code names will transition to ...(u'll see it). When it transitions, on the J.S, I added innerHTML="-".
Which should toggle betwen add + and subttact -
I was going to add if() statement to say:
If the "+" changes to "-", and if you click on "-" or the div holding the + sign changed to "-", then the code names will transition back to normal (to width:0, padding: 0;...).
But I thought we might have to add eventListener which I don't know how yet.
So I need a little help to accomplish the above.
