Both are hard languages but I think python is more easier than java . Python's syntax is easy and it is OOP based language. Moreove it has many third party libraries that are useful. I suggest many beginners to start with python as it is also very popular in modern world. But if you believe in "OLD IS GOLD"😎😎 then you can start with java. Java is basically used everywhere from app development to 3d games to backend development. Thanks

I want to say that the word easy is really relative... But one disadvantage of python ,if you start with python you may lack a sense of data types which you will get in java...

I hate Java with a passion, so I'd say Python. But it is very much true that Python, in regards to difficulty and readability, Python ALWAYS beats Java

You can do powerful things with less code using python 3. Both languages are not that easy to understand if you are new to programming but are quite easy to learn if you already know about c++ or php or any other oriented object language. So I would say: chose the one you need the most but if you just want to do things more easily and for you, go for python. If you want to build apps for end users, use Java.

I want to put a reminder here, that all of this is just opinion and preference. There is no 'X has to come first'. There can be good reasons to start with any language. When you start with a 'lower' language (closer to the hardware), you'll have a harder time as a beginner with little computer knowledge. That doesn't mean you can't do it! You can start with Python and profit from its simplicity to concentrate merely on how to figure out algorithms, how to solve task, without hurting your brain over stuff you can't possibly understand right now. You can also start with Java. You may have a harder entry, because you'll have to deal with classes, privacy issues, static and non-static stuff and all of that, although you don't even understand simple functions yet. But if you manage to rumble through there and trust in that you will fill the white spots later, you'll have taken a short cut. With good teaching (material) there can be value in several first languages.

Python is definitely the winner by a long way here... There are a lot of features in Python that allow you to do more in less lines of code. I mean, I am learning machine learning now using Python and I realised that what takes me about 6-7 lines of code took me just one line in Python. Love Python 3000🐍🐍🐍♥️♥️♥️

Java is in my opinion more obvious in its syntax. You can guess what you're trying to do by just looking at the line. I'm learning Python an can see that it's syntax is condensed and inclusive.. So you can do more with less. I took the first Java class at college and now am trying to learn Python and I think it's good foundation.

Python is easier to understand and fun to use, but I would check both of them as java is still #1 used in the world and many apis wont give starter help on python
