Computer storage and memory

So i'm really trying to get a good understanding on how computer storage and memory works. So for example if I have my compiled game stored in the hdd and I click to launch it, which part of the whole games code goes to ram?

Ok so if I have a game like terraria and I click to launch it, so what part of the game is being transferred from your hdd to your ram, i mean surely it isnt the whole game.
