Is calculus important to learn Python programming ?

Nope. Not unless what you're trying to do involves calculus.
Da2 you don't need it for machine learning either unless you're tweaking it. There are so many frameworks already setup so you can just go at it without knowing what's happening underneath. The meta of it is statistics, but on the surface level you don't need to know it unless you're interested in furthering the field. Which in that case you have a lot of competition.

You can, and you would need to learn about the mathematics behind it to push it further.
But for most coders who want to dabble or even build a good product out of it, they don't need to learn the basis.
As for if Machine Learning is AI, yes it is, or at least most of the world including governments and corporations think it is.
But the current nueral network model is a bit stuck as just being statistics. Eventually it'll need to innovate. That doesn't mean it isn't powerful or cool though. I have my own ideas on how it can innovate, and completely alternative ways without nueral networks to do machine learning. But I'm not being paid for that, so meh.
