I saw that many GitHub repositories use this service. Why i should use this? What are the advantages?

Satnam thank you for the answer, i saw that Is also a free option for open-source projects, i was wondering if It has a sense to use in some my project. I' m reading the travis docs, not sure to understand, travis Is a kind of testing tool or not?
