Would you consider Atom a text editor or an IDE?
I just read a comment on a forum, someone was ripping this poor guy a new one for calling Atom an IDE. Which would you consider it?
We have had a few discussions on this ourselves, in SL. The thing is, when it comes to programs like Atom, VS Code, it can be both. With the appropriate plugins and add-ons, what is originally a plain text editor can become a full-fledged IDE.
//Actually Atom is GitHub's text editor built on the Electron framework, is being fitted with IDE-like capabilities as a precursor to making the editor a full-fledged IDE. The first step in Atom's transition from text editor to IDE is an optional package of features developed with Facebook called Atom-IDE.
