Using both Intellij and Android Studio for making application

Question

I've downloaded both Intellij and Android Studio for making apps with java. I'd never worked with them nor java. I think I just need only one IED.
Advise please?

Android studio is based on intellij. so they almost the same. if you are making Android apps, use Android Studio. if for other purposes use intellij because it's lighter on the System.
