Python or R (or else) for a Data Analyst profile

Hello all, Which langage would you recommend to learn for a Data Analyst and to increase his skills in statistical domain ? Thank you Fabien

Personally, I feel as if Python would be better of a choice. I see it as a more common choice for Data Analysts, and one that is updated and used quite often. Then again, i've never used R.

Thank you for your answers. It's a real confrontation between 2 worlds. Currently, I'm learning Python on this site, which is relaly great because of comments very usefum and today, I have particular difficulties to understand the OOP module and moreover, I'm wondering if this part has an interest for me, relative to my profile. I'm ok that this is part (and important part) of Python's langage but concretly, I don't see the application of this for a database and the analysis and anyway, if there is any application(s) on this, it makes me very afraid not to get this OOP part (in particular "Magic Methods and Operator Overloading")
