In web development or programming in general there's 2 ways you can go,
either you become a freelancer, which is being your own boss etc etc...
The pros:
your own boss
perfect balance between work and life
you can choose your own rate of pay, clients etc
not restricted to a certain project, you do what you feel like
cons:
You already have to be experienced
Hard to get going (at the start)
No guaranteed monthly income or a very varying income (not every month is the same)
Sometimes it's hard to work from your comfort zone due to distractions
Second option, get hired in a company, this is exactly the opposite of a freelancer
you work for a company in their hours, their wage, their projects and you work on whatever they want you to work on. This is not bad but less varying from time to time. Also, this guarantees income. It is possible to combine both but I recommend not picking any "big" projects as side thing then, hope this shed some light onto that topic.
