That is the scoring system. If you are playing with a guy who have more percentage of winning than you, and if you win you will get more XPs. Unfortunately the other guy will lose XP a lot.

If you challenge someone who is a higher level then you then you get more exp and lose less if you lose. But if you challenge someone lower then you and lose. You lose more exp. If you win you get exp but it's not much... Just battle someone your level to learn more and on equal plain field.
