ABAP is considered an important part of SAP, which is the most robust and reliable platform for business applications development. ABAP has been a component of SAP and has helped in the coding of many legacy systems, that can’t be redone in Java so easily. Hence, there are no chances of this programming language, getting replaced with Java (despite all the claims). Moreover, the software applications, like ECC, are based on ABAP coding, a type of SAP business suite application. The career scope in SAP’s ABAP domain is wide. Pursuing SAP Course from a recognized institute will help you to learn the core of ABAP programming. Everything, which you need to know, before thinking to make your career in SAP ABAP. I am curious about the marketability of learning ABAP. i live near an SAP building and im currently a Rideshare driver. I happened to get a ride request from a lady that works in the HR department as a traveling hire and education consultant. i tried to get as much useful information as i could. I even did ask her if I should learn ABAP. Im not sure if she is qualified to answer that question from her position, but she said ABAP isnt totally necessary and having Java knowlegde matters way more. I’m thinking it couldnt hurt to learn SAP ABAP anyway if you have the time and means to do so.. Also other project consultants from SAP i pick up like to talk about how SAP is migrating over to a “serverless” cloud architecture, and the developer newsletter confirms this info. so maybe theres new relevant tools to look out for. Good luck hope this helps!
