Portfolio is where you show your work. For example, codepen.io is an website where people have online portfolio. Simple projects can be creating a static page and then adding JavaScript. You should tag people, so they can respond Nithish Krish otherwise they might not see the thread.

first you need to be confident that you are skillfull to complete any project... for trial you should dirty your hands at freelancer..... and if you are not confident first prepare some good looking websites as showcase , and take others opinions on it....

I think to be truly successful, you need to master (with high proficiency) at least HTML & CSS, with JS if You can. Taking on PHP etc as well is a big ask with the sort of mastery I'm talking about. You might find work developing or building the user side HTML & CSS with your own expertise, and be working with colleagues that specialise in server side stuff. I think it's great that You want to put your skills to marketable use - but remember that there are 1000 amateur level shortcutters out there for every highly skilled programmer. If you really work to master your HTML etc, You will have a ~huge~ competitive edge. The suggestions of building a sample portfolio are also great ideas. Be assertive - identify businesses etc that need work done (No or shabby websites) and tell them what you can offer them. Good luck to You - I hope You do well!
