If i want to type something in the body tag and don't type the head tag it works the same?

Sometimes it works the same. It's better to follow convention to maximize the predictability of the output. There's plenty of things to put in the head tag, once you understand the value of it.

Yes it works the same, look the posted codes. You'll see that several person didn't write anything inside the head if is not necessary, what would you type in the body tag? Metadata type?
