Does sololearn become a second codepen?

Question

When I see hotlists, web programming dominates sololearn.
On the other hand we still have living communites of all other languages.
Will this languages survive or will sololearn become a kind of codepen the next months or years?

I like coding in Python and C++. But it's more easy to get magnificant Outputs with Webcodes. They are Interactivity, colourfull and move around. The Posibilities in other Languages are limited. The Output is static and Userinputs are only alowed when you start the Code. I think it would help to improve the Playground and enable multiple Inputs over the Runtime for all Languages.

here you can do most with web, you can get best outputs, but can learn fundamentals and some advanced concepts of many other technologies...

being a new person to coding I've discovered that any language can do. it just depends on what your test is. that's why I appreciate the fact that we get taught many languages and after this we can take our best interests out there in the field

I disagree completely with that comparison, in codepen you barely learn anything is mostly for show off. In here obviously there's a showcase feature but it serves a different purpose and people are cooler and encouraging.

Oma Falk video game programming is "backend", more people want to make video games than websites. my point is that the limitation of non-web codes on this app paints web code in a brighter light than they are outside the app. it most likely has misled people, driving them towards career paths that they wouldn't otherwise take if they knew the possibilities of other languages. those other languages can do gui and pretty pictures better than web ever can.

it's unfortunate that non-web codes are the way they are, as it can give off the impression that those languages can't do as much. when really, the reality is the opposite, non-web languages are able to do so much more. websites are easy to render on a app as the device is already able to do it. you need a compiler or installation to run a lot of other languages, and many can't run on phones directly and thus has to be emulated, which would drastically increase the amount of development trying to match each update for each language, not to mention increasing the size of the app a ton.
so, they just take our codes, run it on their servers, and tell us what the text output is. you don't run code on your device on a non-web code, and that's why it's so limited in comparison to web on sololearn.
java may be somewhat more possible to run on the device since android is nearly all java based, but maybe it could introduce some security issues.

I completely understand your question and my feelings vary. No on one hand. You can learn here and the community is amazing. On the other side of this I feel that web coders will be more prevalent to the apps life span. Users of other languages will move on due to a lack of library or module support. So codepen like no but web specific maybe.

Solo learn can become something like that but it would mean, folks using the app won't be opportuned to using some of the features.
Take for instance, if i save my designs or codes on codepen, I could use the responsive view to check how it looks like.
However, where solo learn beats codepen is the server side (at least, one can practise server side related languages like PHP here)

Ahri Fox i am not sure if absence of Gui really is a limitation.
I see tons of fantastic algorithms which are worth to be studied.
But ... well humans are humans ... pictures attract more attention than genious algorithms.
Frontend development as job is more attractive than backend.
Those are facts and there is nothing wrong with it.
Just expressed my feeling.
