What technologies are most relevant to JavaScript?

So I'm really interested in learning JavaScript as an aspiring programmer. I've read on a lot of applications for JavaScript, but would anyone be able to tell me which tech industry types JavaScript is most relevant to?

JavaScript is industry agnostic. If you need a website that actually does things (allows the user to interact with it), JavaScript is practically unavoidable. Many simpler sites can get by on HTML with CSS, maybe a dash of PHP, but the clientele that are a good fit for these tools (without JavaScript) are usually sole proprietors or some other small business. Knowing JavaScript helps with the not-tiny projects in innumerable ways.
