Urgent help needed do not know how to proceed

have started programming 6 months before and have learnt c,c++ but whenever i try to do difficult questions from codechef i am demoralized as it includes knowledge of algorithms that I have not practised before.at the same time my friends are doing python ,Html also I got to know that companies like Microsoft prefers topics like hadoop,big data ilease please suggest me write path i have 3 years to prepare for all this

You're lost because you're focused on M$ (and probably cash) and not on the art and science of computing.
1.Learning C, C++ for a start is absurd and may be highly demotivating. Your friends were way smarter starting with HTML and Python. The smartest guys start with Scratch and only later move on.
2. Programming languages are merely the implementation tools for computer solutions of real life problems. They are just a part of computer science tools which include - among others - algorithmics, discreet math, programming paradigms, databases' mechanisms, formal logic and many many other subjects. Get syllabuses from renown universities and you'll know what you're facing. In consequence you won't be surprised in the future.
3. Read John Sonmez's Career Guide, an easy book that should shed some light on the subject.
