It takes a significant amount of time to evolve an AI system on a normal computer even when we want to do simple things like identifying numbers. Quantum computers have way more storage and are way faster than normal computers and even supercomputers for the matter. So, using quantum computing, a day may come in the future where we can succesfully simulate a human brain which would other wise be impossible with computers we have today. So, although Quantum Computing and AI are different fields, quantum computing will greatly improve the kind of ai we have today. So you can say "Quantum Computing is the key to AI". Note: I have very limited knowledge in both fields so correct me if I got something wrong.

Yes, it could be something key, and IBM raised something about it. Even so, quantum computing is still something that still has a long way to go. https://www.research.ibm.com/ibm-q/learn/quantum-computing-applications/
