Beginner Deciding on Language

I'm an attorney looking to transition to the legal technology field. I'm okay with some programming basics, but would like to become more proficient in a language that would help land a legal tech job. I'm thinking Python, C+, or Javascript. Any suggestions, advice, hints, recommendations, or ideas? What's up-and-coming and what is fading? I was pretty good with Basic years ago and hand-coded a couple dozen web sites in HTML before CSS was big. And lately I've been writing stuff for my ESP8266s and Arduinos in Arduino IDE.

I recommend you start with C +, since its syntax is very related to other programming languages, however; If you want something more simple and interactive I recommend JavaScript
